In-Home Maternity in the French Concession| P & P

I love doing in-home maternity photography. It is so intimate, calm, and all the more personal. I first met Pav at a mixers event in Shanghai for new expats. She is an Indian who grew up in Indonesia. Peter is from UK. They moved to Shanghai for his job. We shared our contacts, but sadly never got around to meeting up. About a year later, she contacted me telling me she was pregnant and wanted me to photograph her maternity session!

In-Home Maternity Session

After our consultation, we decided to do a mostly in-home maternity session because for one, they lived in a beautiful apartment in the heart of the Former French Concession. Their home was filled with beautiful and even functional trinkets from their travels. Their bedroom was this beautiful zen space with light wood, white linens, and beautiful light streaming in. So they spend their Saturday mornings enjoying delicious croissants in their balcony while overlooking the green trees outside.

Their bedroom has a beautiful balcony overlooking the streets of the Shanghai Former French Concession. On most weekends, they eat French croissants, and freshly squeezed oranges at this balcony, reflecting on their week past, and planning for the weekend.
